This symbol, Yin-Yang, originates in ancient China. The outside circle represents all things, and the two inner symbols represent opposite energies that make up life (male/female, hot/cold, etc). I use this symbol as a reminder that all things in life are made of both energies, and any one thing or situation is neither all one way or the other. It also symbolizes the need to keep all aspects of our life in balance.
